WINE 101

It all began al long time ago in a log cabin……….

Started with Hilton Hotel Corp, that was too many hours and too boring. But I like the food and beverage industry so I got into selling wine in Southern Minnesota in 1974. At one time I represented 4 different companies because I was the only guy calling on the accounts. Moved to Ed Phillips & Sons in 1978 and held various sales positions with them in Minnesota and Wisconsin until 1990 when I, and 3 partners bought the Ed Phillips and Sons of Eau Claire operation. As part owner, did a little of just about everything but mostly focused on sales. We sold Ed Phillips of Eau Claire in 2001 to Badger Liquor where I work today as a Wine Sales Manager. On a personal level, I’m married with 3 grown kids and 4 grand kids, we pretty much raised our family in Eau Claire where in addition to working with Ed Phillips I was also very involved with the Eau Claire catholic School system. Now spend most of free time at the lake outside of Hayward.

Rotary Eradication of Polio - Music and Fun Fest

NO NOON MEETING ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 24

This new event will replace the Inner Outer party. Details are being developed but here are some things that are already planned:

• Mark Broses is the chairman of this event
• No Rotary business or meeting
• All proceeds go to the eradication of polio in the world
• John Nielson will sing and play the guitar
• Silent Auction
• Quarter barrel of beer, cash bar, hopefully some wine tasting
• Raffles, bowling, Tiger toss, foosball challenges, putting green, other games
• Golf will start in the afternoon with the events starting at 5 PM
• Big grill for a team to cook chicken, catered fixins
